Jigsaw pieces

Plan was to use multiple poses to build up a relationship in space. Whilst I didn't achieve that the short poses did fit together fairly well. Three 5 minutes in pen on 30"x22"

10 minute poses in charcoal and charcoal pencil on 30"x22"

15 minutes in charcoal, struggled to get the pose right.

Similar problems with the long pose particularly the face. 40 minutes pastel on A1.

Wet and dry

Just two 50 minute poses on Monday. The first in pastel pencils, the second water soluble wax pastels.

Space: the final frontier

Thinking about composition on Tuesday. First sheet 12 minute poses, 30"x22", charcoal and charcoal pencil.

Then a couple of 15 minutes same materials, maybe 22"x22"

The last one another 15 minutes in charcoal pencil on 30"x22"

Dynamics

Really dynamic poses on Monday. Hopefully I caught some of that. First three 5 minutes in charcoal and charcoal pencil. The first two are hanging from a sheet.

Then three 10 minutes.

Then a fifteen minute, charcoal pencil.

Final pose whilst more static had some great foreshortening. 45 minutes in pencil.

Second sight

Just one from Thursday. Second week of two. Acrylic on 80cm x 60cm. About 3 hours.

Tuesday 1 April 2014

End of term

Lots to draw. First some short poses. Four minutes charcoal and 3 minutes continous line pen. All the drawings on A2 paper.

Wrong hand three minutes.

A couple of one minutes.

A couple of four minutes. Oddly the most difficult to draw partially because of the knees of doom.

Longer poses we had some dramatic lighting so I tried to take advantage. The upward lighting does make the figure look ominous though. Charcoal wipeout about 25 minutes.

Then a couple of white on black. The first 15 minutes, the second 20.
