Coloured dust

Gestures

Lots of short poses on Tuesday, here are some sample.

A continous line with left hand then right. About 2 minutes each.

A one minute followed by a "not looking at the paper" 2 minutes.

One minute each with foreshortening. These would be interesting in longer poses.

Drawing with both hands. 3 minutes each - switched between left and right for the charcoal and charcoal pencil.

A couple of 20 minutes drawings to finish. First in an oil based pencil:

Then in charcoal and charcoal pencil:

Tuesday 18 November 2014

Local tone

First some quick drawings. 5 minutes each in coloured pencil.

Then charcoal about 1 hour 30. There is too much local tone here (ie. the lighter areas in the shadow should be darker) which I might fix.

More shadows

Three 20 minute drawings in charcoal and charcoal pencil.

30 minutes in pencil

First some quick drawings. 5 minutes each in charcoal and charcoal pencil.

Then the paintings both about 90 minutes. Acrylic 20"x16".

Saturday 1 November 2014

Binocular vision

Two versions of the same pose on Saturday, first A2 coloured pencil, then quarter sheet acrylics. Both took about 2 hours.I was hemmed in so could not stand back to correct some of the proportion issues.
